James Francis Corrington

Born in 1961, Jim Corrington has produced a multitude of artworks.  After formal training under the teaching of Olivio Ferrari at the Virginia Tech School of Architecture 1980-1985, Jim invented a new way of viewing the canvas.

Borrowing from his influences of the Bauhaus, Piet Mondrian, Max Bill, Jim was able to define a unique hard edge style of painting.  Drawing extensively from travels in Greece, Italy, and the Mediterranean, Jim launched his first solo exhibit in Blacksburg, VA in 1984.  He showcased 10 canvases at a local gallery.

The response was overwhelming.  Not only was the show extended, every painting was sold.

Thirty years later, Jim has had success with his unique style.  He has shown in numerous shows across the country, and received many awards.  Jim’s work hangs in many homes and private collections.
